Kyle Springate as a freelance fashion photographer, with a degree in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town (Michaelis - photography major - Class '14).
He is currently exploring the global market and his own style. He believes in the old adage – the only constant is change and that to make it in this market versatility is important.“I feel that you can always come back to what you know, but it’s important to try new things and explore the roads less travelled. This keeps things exciting, it can be tricky, as one has to build their name first before exploring, and some agencies and places are more conservative than others. I am determined to push boundaries and see just how diverse my images can be. I’d like to explore that more as a photographer. Being profoundly Deaf lets me literally cut out the white noise. I think my sense of sight is heightened and my attention to detail well honed because of that. I have also had amazing luck and been able to seize opportunities to capture images for numerous online magazines of some very special people in the industry.”
Kyle is deeply influenced by Mario Testino, Mert & Marcus, Gavin O’Neil, Bruce Webber, David Lachapelle, Annie Leibovitz, and the more sinister Steven Klein.
